The Next Big Thing

A Blog Hop about what's up next. So, it's 2013 and I have high expectations for myself this year and to start it off, I'm going to answer a few questions about my current WIP and also giveaway a book from my backlist - winner's choice.

First the questions:

What is the working title of your book?
The first book I'm working on this year is Under the Sun, which I am writing with RJ Scott.

Where did the idea come from for the book?
This is part of a series that we dreamed up in the middle of last year about the loves and lives of men visiting an island in the Bahamas called Sapphire Cay. The idea came about from wanting to write an easy read, romance series, and first was an idea based around a secondary character from The Art of Words. But instead we decided to set it free by itself and it's slowly growing into its own little world.

What genre does your book fall under?
Contemporay Gay Romance.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie?
Oh, good question. We have the cover art for it now and it's all I can really see for the two guys. Edward is all fashionable-geek and British and Jamie is an ex-marine, young, and hurting.

Hmm, maybe Ed Westwick for Edward - get his hair plumped up and some glasses lol. Oh wait...He already did!!

Jamie... can I have Ian Somerhalder? Just because he has the best eyes ever! Here have some wee!Ian lol

What is a one sentence synopsis of your book?
On a tropical island, OCD wedding planner meets sweat-glistened, ex-marine, who's handy with a hammer.

Will your book be self published or represented by an agency?
Self-pubbing with RJ Scott through www.lovelanebooks.co.uk

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
It isn't finished yet, but with the new year comes a new focus, so I imagine about 4-6 weeks for a March release.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I'm not sure really. Anything with a hot tropical island and men falling in love :)

Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Inspiration comes from my friends and family - I've been fortunate to have their support and I hope with this and my other stories, I will make them proud.

What else about your book might interest the reader?
Did I mention the sweat-glistened, ex-marine? Under the sun Jamie and Edward come together, a love-hate relationship blooms into something more, one man tries to move forward with his life, and we also get to catch up with Dylan and Lucas from the first book and see how they're doing and where they're at in their relationship.

Well, there we go. That was a fun way to start the year :)

Giveaway:
Please leave a comment and an email address if you would like to be part of the giveaway. You can choose anything from my backlist, including, The Art of Words, Follow the Sun, Dead Things, Hearts of England Anthology, and Sex and Cocktails.
